Psychological Assessment with the MMPI-2/MMPI-2-RF, 3rd Edition
This third edition apprises users of the MMPI-2/MMPI-2-Restructured Form (RF) for the ever-changing landscape of this dynamic personality/psychopathology instrument and its expanding utility in a variety of contexts. Two new chapters addressing the RC scales and the MMPI-2-RF are included in this updated text. Additionally, over 450 new references have been incorporated into the book, with information gathered and organized for practical clinical and forensic applications. The codetype interpretation chapter has expanded its sections with more in-depth feedback information and treatment considerations for clinicians to help in facilitating the formulation of treatment recommendations and strengthening therapeutic relationships with their clients. A number of special scales with clinical and forensic applications are also covered in this edition. An important section has been added addressing the MMPI and suicide.

This new edition is a must-have resource that will inform and guide users of the MMPI-2 and MMPI-2-RF in their daily practices, and assist researchers in conceptualizing the operating characteristics and configural relationships among the various scales and indices that comprise this instrument. From simple single scale interpretation to complex configural relationships, this text addresses a broad bandwidth of interpretive information designed for text users' at all levels of sophistication.

The Book of PF: A No-Nonsense Guide to the OpenBSD Firewall (3rd Edition)

FREEDownload : The Book of PF: A No-Nonsense Guide to the OpenBSD Firewall (3rd Edition)

The Book of PF: A No-Nonsense Guide to the OpenBSD Firewall (3rd Edition) by Peter N. M. Hansteen
English | 2014 | ISBN: 1593275897 | 248 pages | PDF | 5 MB

The Book of PF: A No-Nonsense Guide to the OpenBSD Firewall (3rd Edition)
OpenBSD's stateful packet filter, PF, is the heart of the OpenBSD firewall. With more and more services placing high demands on bandwidth and an increasingly hostile Internet environment, no sysadmin can afford to be without PF expertise.

The third edition of The Book of PF covers the most up-to-date developments in PF, including new content on IPv6, dual stack configurations, the "queues and priorities" traffic-shaping system, NAT and redirection, wireless networking, spam fighting, failover provision ing, logging, and more.

You'll also learn how to:

Create rule sets for all kinds of network traffic, whether crossing a simple LAN, hiding behind NAT, traversing DMZs, or spanning bridges or wider networks
Set up wireless networks with access points, and lock them down using authpf and special access restrictions
Maximize flexibility and service availability via CARP, relayd, and redirection
Build adaptive firewalls to proactively defend against attackers and spammers
Harness OpenBSD's latest traffic-shaping system to keep your network responsive, and convert your existing ALTQ configurations to the new system
Stay in control of your traffic with monitoring and visualization tools (including NetFlow)
The Book of PF is the essential guide to building a secure network with PF. With a little effort and this book, you'll be well prepared to unlock PF's full potential.

Mobile Web Browsing Using the Cloud by Bo Zhao and Byung Chul Tak
English | 2013-08-05 | ISBN: 1461481023 | PDF | 60 pages | 1,2 MB

Mobile Web Browsing Using the Cloud
This brief surveys existing techniques to address the problem of long delays and high power consumption for web browsing on smartphones, which can be due to the local computational limitation at the smartphone (e.g., running java scripts or flash objects) level. To address this issue, an architecture called Virtual-Machine based Proxy (VMP) is introduced, shifting the computing from smartphones to the VMP which may reside in the cloud. illustrates the feasibility of deploying the proposed VMP system in 3G networks through a prototype using Xen virtual machines (in cloud) and Android Phones with ATT UMTS network. Techniques to address scalability issues, resource management techniques to optimize the performance of the VMs on the proxy side, compression techniques to further reduce the bandwidth consumption, and adaptation techniques to address poor network conditions on the smartphone are also included.

Background Calibration of Time-Interleaved Data Converters (Analog Circuits and Signal Processing) by Manar El-Chammas and Boris Murmann
English | ISBN: 1461415101 | 2011 | PDF | 144 pages | 1,5 MB
This book describes techniques for time-interleaving a number of analog-to-digital data converters to achieve demanding bandwidth requirements. Readers will benefit from the presentation of a low-power solution that can be used in actual products, while alleviating the time-varying signal artifacts that typically arise when implementing such a system architecture.

Proportional Optimization and Fairness

Proportional Optimization and Fairness
Springer | 2008-11-21 | ISBN: 0387877185 | 290 pages | PDF | 2,9 MB
Proportional Optimization and Fairness is a long-needed attempt to reconcile optimization with apportionment in just-in-time (JIT) sequences and find the common ground in solving problems ranging from sequencing mixed-model just-in-time assembly lines through just-in-time batch production, balancing workloads in event graphs to bandwidth allocation internet gateways and resource allocation in computer operating systems.
