The Vibrant Relationship: A Handbook for Couples and Therapists (Systemic Thinking and Practice) by Kirsten Seidenfaden, Piet Draiby
2011 | ISBN: 185575813X | English | 170 pages | PDF | 5 MB

The Vibrant Relationship: A Handbook for Couples and Therapists
There is no quick and easy way to a mature, strong, and mindful relationship. The journey consists of small steps towards creating increasing confidence for each other as you learn to counter your old habits, survival strategies, and seemingly uncontrollable emotions. Experiencing the way differences can be enriching and not just threatening for your relationship is also part of the processes described in this book.

The Vibrant Relationship is not just a book that promotes marriage or relationship per se. It is an optimistic book about new opportunities which are just within our reach – if we make a small effort.

Creating and sustaining a vibrant relationship is one of the most difficult challenges we come across in our lives. But when we do succeed, it is the source of a truly deep and lasting happiness. To succeed, we need some tools to help us on our way.

This is a book about the opportunities to begin or continue a good development in your relationship.

The book is divided in easy to grasp sections of theory and practical exercises. In the first part of the book two of Denmark's most experienced practitioners in couples' therapy, psychologist Kirsten Seidenfaden and psychiatrist Piet Draiby, explain why we tend to get confused about love. In the exercise section of the book they provide some simple, yet very efficient, tools to help us find out where we lost our way and how we can remain in a loving vibrant relationship for the rest of our lives.

This book is a manual in the true sense of the word. It is a book that offers practical advice and important background information when your relationship is failing or when dreams and vitality are on standby. This book can help you get back on track when your life together is light-years away from what you hoped for at the beginning of your relationship.

The book is illustrated with collages by the internationally recognized artist Victor IV.

Programming for Software Sharing

FREEDownload : Programming for Software Sharing

Programming for Software Sharing (Ispra Courses) by D.T. Muxworthy
English | Oct 4, 2013 | ISBN: 9400971478 | 300 Pages | PDF | 5 MB
Most computer users are familiar with the problems of sharing software with others, and the transfer of programs from one computing environment to another. Software represents an ever-increasing proportion of the cost of computing and these costs tend to nullify all the economic advantages flowing from the wider availability of cheap hardware. Years ago it was hoped that the widespread use of high-level programming languages would help in alleviating the problems of software production, by increasing productivity and by making it simpler for users with similar problems to be able to use the same programs, possibly on different types of machines.

Programming for Software Sharing
It is a common experience that in practice this simple optimism has proved to be unfounded. It was these considerations which led us in 1979 to organize a two-week course on "" at the European Community Joint Research Centre, Ispra Establishment (Italy), forming part of the regular series of "Ispra Courses". With prominent invited lecturers, local contributions and through discussion sessions we examined with an audience from many countries the problems involved in the sharing and transfer of software, as well as suggesting ways of overcoming them. In our local environment we are faced daily with three problems both from engagements in software exchange in the scientific-technical field on a Europe-wide or world-wide basis, and from work with programming techniques and contributions to the international standardization process.

Acute Adult Dermatology: Diagnosis and Management

FREEDownload : Acute Adult Dermatology: Diagnosis and Management

Acute Adult Dermatology: Diagnosis and Management (A Colour Handbook) by Daniel Creamer, Jonathan Barker, Francisco A. Kerdel
2011 | ISBN: 1840761024 | English | 241 pages | PDF | 13 MB

Acute Adult Dermatology: Diagnosis and Management
A significant proportion of skin disease develops rapidly, is highly symptomatic and can be associated with considerable morbidity. While most patients with acute skin disorders are initially seen by primary care services, acute dermatology is also encountered in hospital emergency departments and in dermatology clinics. This book aims to serve as a comprehensive reference on relevant acute dermatology and is designed to encourage a structured and thorough clinical technique.

The sections have been written so that essential information about each disease is summarised in a clear and concise way. After a brief introduction, there is a description of the clinical features, followed by a differential diagnosis, a list of important systemic associations and the relevant investigations. Treatment is divided into two sections, the first stating the immediate action required to prevent further deterioration and the second discussing long-term management considerations. Each condition described and discussed is illustrated by clinical pictures.

It is hoped that this book will enable all medical staff seeing patients with acute skin problems to practice more effectively. It is aimed at primary care physicians, nurse specialists, emergency department staff and dermatologists. It should also appeal to the general physician who is interested in dermatology.

How to Cook a Dragon: Living, Loving, and Eating in China by Linda Furiya
English | 2008 | ISBN: 158005255X | 256 pages | PDF | 15,7 MB

How to Cook a Dragon: Living, Loving, and Eating in China
When Linda Furiya decided to move to China with her boyfriend at the age of thirty, she hoped to find romance and ethnic kinship. Expecting common ground with locals as an Asian American, Furiya struggled with her ambition as a food writer in a nation where notions of race and gender are set in stone. During the six years she lived in Beijing and Shanghai, Furiya experienced a wide range of experiences-loneliness, isolation, friendship, and love-tied together by one common theme: food.

Ultimately, Furiya surpassed these challenges and found inspiration from the courageous Chinese women who graced her life. The sensuous experience of preparing and eating authentic Chinese cuisine follows Furiya throughout her journey, and ultimately reveals the intimate, nurturing side of the Chinese culture and people. Part insightful memoir, part authentic cookbook, How to Cook a Dragon is a revealing look at race, love, and food in China.

The Continuity of Madhyamaka and Yogacara in Indian Mahayana Buddhism

FREEDownload : The Continuity of Madhyamaka and Yogacara in Indian Mahayana Buddhism

Ian Charles Harris, "The Continuity of Madhyamaka and Yogacara in Indian Mahayana Buddhism"
Brill Academic Pub | 1991-08-01 | ISBN: 9004094482 | PDF | 191 pages | 15.73 MB
In the past European scholars have tended to treat both Madhyamaka and Yog c ra as separate and fundamentally opposed trends in Mah y na Buddhist thought. Drawing heavily on early textual evidence this work questions the validity of such a Mah y na schools" hypothesis. By down-playing the late commentorial traditions, the author attempts a general reappraisal of the epistemological and ontological writings of Nagarjuna, Asanga and Vasubandhu.

The Continuity of Madhyamaka and Yogacara in Indian Mahayana Buddhism
He concludes that the overlap in all areas of doctrine is significant, but particularly with respect to the teachings on the levels of truth, the enlightened and unenlightened states, the status of language and the nature of reality. It is hoped that such investigations may provide the basis for a new theory on the proliferation of Indian Mah y na Buddhism as an organic process of assimilation to new audiences, and specific contemporary problems, rather than in the more schismatic manner favoured by past researchers.

Postoptimal Analyses, Parametric Programming, and Related Topics

FREEDownload : Postoptimal Analyses, Parametric Programming, and Related Topics

Postoptimal Analyses, Parametric Programming, and Related Topics by Tomas Gal
English | August 12, 2010 | ISBN: 3110140608 | 464 Pages | PDF | 92 MB
For some considerable time, linear programming has been one of the methods of operations research which has been widely known and much applied in Germany too, both in the literature ofthe subject and in practice. Its applications range from production planning through finance planning and from optimization of traffic networks through urban planning. The literature of linear programming includes textbooks of a strictly mathematical nature as weil as programmed textbooks for those with no previous knowledge of mathematics. An objection frequently heard to more extensive dissemination of the theories of linear programming in the practical field has been that data wh ich are available in practice are at once too inexact and too unreliable to provide the basis for the application of "exact" procedures like linear programming.

Postoptimal Analyses, Parametric Programming, and Related Topics
This problem is the starting point of the present volume. The inexactitude and unreliability of existing data often cannot be disputed. Using conventional planning methods, the determination of the effects of these inaccuracies is frequently very difficult, if not impossible. In most cases, this is, however, possible using sensitivity analysis in the widest sense (i.e., including postoptimal analysis and parametric programming), and the amount of effort involved is reasonable. My colleague, Professor Gal has been involved in research in this field for many years. His decision to undertake the writing of an introduction to and interpretation of the area of linear programming which enables us to make statements on the possible effects of data changes, data inaccuracies, and decision changes on operational and other problems is, therefore, to be welcomed.
Sensitivity analysis, as interpreted in the present volume, has been seen by experts – correctly, in my opinion – as the bridge between pure dissemination of information and decision making. There is, thus, ample justification for including a volume on such an important subject in the "Operations Research" series. As the present volume is likely to interest both hose working in linear programming and research mathematicians, the chapters have been written primarily with practical application in mind, and an abridged mathematical version has been appended to each of them. It is hoped that this will increase the usefulness of the volume for a wide range of readers.

Space Shuttle Columbia: Her Missions and Crews (Springer Praxis Books / Space Exploration) by Ben Evans
English | August 30, 2005 | ISBN: 0387215174 | 501 Pages | PDF | 8 MB
On February 1st 2003, one of the worst and most public disasters ever witnessed in the human space programme unfolded with horrifying suddenness in the skies above north central Texas. The Space Shuttle Columbia – the world's first truly reusable manned spacecraft – was lost during her return to Earth, along with a crew of seven.

Space Shuttle Columbia: Her Missions and Crews (Springer Praxis Books / Space Exploration) by Ben Evans
It was an event that, after the loss of Space Shuttle Challenger during a launch 17 years before, the world had hoped it would never see again. This book details each of Columbia's 28 missions in turn, as told by scientists and researchers who developed and supported her many payloads, by the engineers who worked on her and by the astronauts who flew her. In doing so, it is intended to provide a fitting tribute to this most remarkable flying machine and those who perished on her last mission.

FREEDownload : Back in the Fight: The Explosive Memoir of a Special Operator Who Never Gave Up (Audiobook)

Back in the Fight: The Explosive Memoir of a Special Operator Who Never Gave Up (Audiobook) By Joseph Kapacziewski, Charles W. Sasser, read by Johnny Heller and Jo Anna Perrin
Unabridged edition 2013 | 9 hours and 13 minutes | ISBN: n/a , ASIN: B00COYYUJC | MP3 64 kbps | 265 MB

Back in the Fight: The Explosive Memoir of a Special Operator Who Never Gave Up (Audiobook)
On October 3, 2005, Kapacziewski and his soldiers were coming to the end of their tour in Northern Iraq when their convoy was attacked by enemy fighters. A grenade fell through the gunner's hatch and exploded, shattering Kapacziewski's right leg below the knee, damaging his right hip, and severing a nerve and artery in his right arm.
He endured more than forty surgeries, but his right leg still wasn't healing as he had hoped, so in March 2007, Kapacziewski chose to have it amputated with one goal in mind: to return to the line and serve alongside his fellow Rangers. One year after his surgery, Kapacziewski accomplished his goal: he was put back on the line, as a squad leader of his Army Ranger Regiment.
On April 19, 2010, during his ninth combat deployment (and fifth after losing his leg), Kapacziewski's patrol ran into an ambush outside a village in eastern Afghanistan. After a fellow Ranger fell to withering enemy fire, shot through the belly, Sergeant Kap and another soldier dragged him seventy-five yards to safety and administered first aid that saved his life while heavy machineguns tried to kill them. His actions earned him an Army Commendation Medal with "V" for Valor. He had previously been awarded a Bronze Star for Valor-and a total of three Purple Hearts for combat wounds.
Back in the Fight is an inspiring and thrilling tale listeners will never forget. The inspiring and thrilling combat memoir of the only Army Ranger serving in direct combat operations with a prosthetic limb.
Includes a bonus interview with Sergeant Joseph Kapacziewski and his editor, Marc Resnick.
