The Weyl Operator and its Generalization

FREEDownload : The Weyl Operator and its Generalization

The Weyl Operator and its Generalization (Pseudo-Differential Operators) by Leon Cohen
English | 2012-12-12 | ISBN: 3034802935 | PDF | 171 pages | 0,9 MB

The Weyl Operator and its Generalization
The discovery of quantum mechanics in the years 1925-1930 necessitated the consideration of associating ordinary functions with non-commuting operators. Methods were proposed by Born/Jordan, Kirkwood, and Weyl. Sometime later, Moyal saw the connection between the Weyl rule and the Wigner distribution, which had been proposed by Wigner in 1932 as a way of doing quantum statistical mechanics. The basic idea of associating functions with operators has since been generalized and developed to a high degree. It has found several application fields, including quantum mechanics, pseudo-differential operators, time-frequency analysis, quantum optics, wave propagation, differential equations, image processing, radar, and sonar. This book aims at bringing together the results from the above mentioned fields in a unified manner and showing the reader how the methods have been applied. A wide audience is addressed, particularly students and researchers who want to obtain an up-to-date working knowledge of the field. The mathematics is accessible to the uninitiated reader and is presented in a straightforward manner.

Restoration: Charles II and His Kingdoms, 1660-1685 By Tim Harris
Publisher: Pen..guin Glo..bal 2006 | 528 Pages | ISBN: 0140264655 | EPUB | 7 MB

Restoration: Charles II and His Kingdoms, 1660-1685
The late seventeenth century was a period of extraordinary turbulence and political violence in Britain, the like of which has never been seen since. Beginning with the Restoration of the monarchy after the Civil War, this book traces the fate of the monarchy from Charles II's triumphant accession in 1660 to the growing discontent of the 1680s. Harris looks beyond the popular image of Restoration England revelling in its freedom from the austerity of Puritan rule under a merry monarch and reconstructs the human tragedy of Restoration politics where people were brutalised, hounded and exploited by a regime that was desperately insecure after two decade of civil war and republican rule.

Applied Computer Science by Shane Torbert
English | ISBN: 1461418879 | November 15, 2011 | PDF | 211 pages | 8 MB

Applied Computer Science
Applied Computer Science presents a unique approach for introductory courses that will engage students with relevant topics from a variety of disciplines, encourage their natural creativity, and prepare them for independent projects. Lab assignments are accessible and carefully sequenced for maximum impact. Students are able to write their own code in building solutions and Python is used to minimize any language barrier for beginners. Problems involving visualization are emphasized throughout with interactive graphics, image files, and Descriptions of generated data. This text aims to establish a core learning experience around which any number of other learning objectives could be included. The text is presented in seven (7) chapters where each chapter contains three (3) problems and each problem develops five (5) specific lab assignments, plus additional questions and discussion. This approach seeks to leverage the immediate feedback provided by the computer to help students as they work toward writing code creatively. All labs will scale to available hardware and free software could be used for the entire course, if desired.

Principles of Computer Hardware – 4th Edition

FREEDownload : Principles of Computer Hardware – 4th Edition

Principles of Computer Hardware – 4th Edition
Publisher: OUP Oxford; 4 edition (9 Feb. 2006)
Language: English | Format: PDF | ISBN-10: 0199273138 – ISBN-13: 978-0199273133 | 77 MB
Computer technology pervades almost every aspect of our life: from the cars that we drive, to the mobile phones that we use to communicate; from the digital cameras that capture images of the world around us, to the laser printers that turn image into picture. Yet at the heart of these enabling technologies lie fundamental components and systems, without the understanding of which such technologies would never have been developed.

Principles of Computer Hardware – 4th Edition
Principles of Computer Hardware explores the fundamentals of computer structure, architecture, and programming that underpin the array of computerized technologies around which our lives are now built.

The book opens with an introduction to the fundamental concepts upon which computers are constructed – gates, circuits, logic – and computer arithmetic, the 'language' through which computers communicate. It then reveals how computers are structured and how they operate, taking us step-wise from the instruction set architecture, the bringing together of instructions through assembly language programming, and on to the heart of the computer, the central processing unit. The book then builds on these foundations to consider how the hardware interfaces with its surroundings, introducing us to topics such as computer memory; operating systems and the interface between hardware and software; and computer peripherals and computer communications – the interface with the outside world.

Always putting educational value first, Principles of Computer Hardware uses the 68K processor as a powerful teaching and learning tool, putting substance firmly before style. With the clarity of explanation and captivating style for which Alan Clements is renowned, the book draws the student in to the heart of the subject, to foster an in-depth understanding from which more specialised study can then extend.

About the Author

Alan Clements is Motorola Professor in the School of Computing at the University of Teesside, Middlesbrough. In 2002 he was awarded both a National Teaching Fellowship for his contribution to teaching and the IEEE Computer Society's 'Computer Science and Engineering Undergraduate Teaching Award'.
