Ice Creams, Sorbets and Gelati: The Definitive Guide
Twelve years after the publication of their previous book, the largest selling book on ICES that has ever been published, Caroline and Robin Weir return with the ultimate guide to Ice Cream, Gelato, and Sorbet. Since the first publication, over a decade of research and millions of calories have gone into this new book which has over 400 recipes covering ice creams, gelato, graniti, bombes, parfaits, instructions on making wafers, biscuits, punches, even ice creams for diabetics and vegans. This NEW book, with all areas expanded and updated, is for the beginner, the enthusiast, the cook, the expert, and the professional chef. All the recipes are written in the clearest terms in Metric, cup measurements, and Imperial weights and measures. All techniques are described in the simplest terms and all your questions are covered in this comprehensive book. There are new revelations, on the history of ice cream as well as the origin of the ice cream cone, plus dozens of new pictures and illustrations from the authors constantly expanding collection; there is also a section on both penny licks and some hilarious soda fountain lingo. There is also a comprehensive section on the physics and chemistry of all ices, as well as enough information to enable you to make almost anything into an ice. Should you want to go BIG on ice cream there is a section on equipment as well as a section on the chemistry and physics of ice cream and ices. If you have never tasted homemade ice cream, you are in for a revelation. If you have the previous book you are in for many inspired new flavors. These are not ice creams loaded with junk confectionery, these are pure unalloyed, straightforward ices, made from easily obtainable ingredients without additives.returncharacterreturncharacter returncharacterreturncharacter REVIEWS returncharacterreturncharacter"…filled with 400 recipes for all skill levels as well as more glorious history of ices from all over England and Europe and even America (the older book I have is also full of wonderful stories and great recipes). I recommend his books… they are indispensable when you are in the mood for the best ice cream ever. This is killer chocolate and the trick with the cocoa is genius. For it to be as good as Berthillon, it would have to be eaten in Paris (location, location, location). Absent that — this is great chocolate — one of the best I've had."Lost Past Remebered Blogspot

A Different Christianity: Early Christian Esotericism and Modern Thought By Robin Amis
Publisher: St.ate Unive.rsity of New York Press 1995 | 422 Pages | ISBN: 079142572X , 0791425711 | PDF | 12 MB

A Different Christianity: Early Christian Esotericism and Modern Thought
This book presents the esoteric original core of Christianity with its concern for illuminating and healing the inner life of the individual. It is a bridge to the often difficult doctrines of the early church fathers, explaining the spiritual psychology of the fathers that underlies the current renewal of spirituality in the Greek church. This renewal, like this book, is closely linked to the understandings of the modern monks and abbots on Mount Athos. A Different Christianity is useful to the practitioner, as well as to the scholar, providing new insights into the problems of studying and following the spiritual path outside of a monastery.

Beginning SQL Server for Developers, 4 edition

FREEDownload : Beginning SQL Server for Developers, 4 edition

Robin Dewson, "Beginning SQL Server for Developers, 4 edition"
English | ISBN: 1484202813 | 2015 | 684 pages | PDF | 26 MB

Beginning SQL Server for Developers, 4 edition
Beginning SQL Server for Developers is the perfect book for developers new to SQL Server and planning to create and deploy applications against Microsoft's market-leading database system for the Windows platform. Now in its fourth edition, the book is enhanced to cover the very latest developments in SQL Server, including the in-memory features that are introduced in SQL Server 2014.

Within the book, there are plenty of examples of tasks that developers routinely perform. You'll learn to create tables and indexes, and be introduced to best practices for securing your valuable data. You'll learn design tradeoffs and find out how to make sound decisions resulting in scalable databases and maintainable code.

SQL Server 2014 introduces in-memory tables and stored procedures. It's now possible to accelerate applications by creating tables (and their indexes) that reside entirely in memory, and never on disk. These new, in-memory structures differ from caching mechanisms of the past, and make possible the extraordinarily swift execution of certain types of queries such as are used in business intelligence applications. Beginning SQL Server for Developers helps you realize the promises of this new feature set while avoiding pitfalls that can occur when mixing in-memory tables and code with traditional, disk-based tables and code.

Beginning SQL Server for Developers takes you through the entire database development process, from installing the software to creating a database to writing the code to connect to that database and move data in and out. By the end of the book, you'll be able to design and create solid and reliable database solutions using SQL Server.

Takes you through the entire database application development lifecycle
Includes brand new coverage of the in-memory features
Introduces the freely-available Express Edition
What you'll learn
Install SQL Server
Build database applications from start to finish
Accelerate applications via the in-memory features
Write stored code to execute directly in the database server
Back up, recover, and otherwise maintain your database

Connect to your database from client languages such as C# and VB .NET
Who this book is for

Beginning SQL Server for Developers is ideal for developers starting out with SQL Server 2012 or 2014. There is no prerequisite background in developing database applications. Developers from other platforms and those brand new to database programming alike will find in Beginning SQL Server for Developers an excellent introduction to using and programming Microsoft's database platform.

I’ll Be Here in the Morning: The Songwriting Legacy of Townes Van Zandt

FREEDownload : I’ll Be Here in the Morning: The Songwriting Legacy of Townes Van Zandt

I'll Be Here in the Morning: The Songwriting Legacy of Townes Van Zandt (John and Robin Dickson Series in Texas Music, sponsored by the Center for Texas) by Cowboy" Jack Clements
English | Nov 28, 2011 | ISBN: 1603445269 | 272 Pages | PDF | 126 MB

I’ll Be Here in the Morning: The Songwriting Legacy of Townes Van Zandt
In this tightly woven, intelligently written book, Brian T. Atkinson interviews both well-known musicians and up-and-coming artists to reveal, in the performers' own words, how their creative careers have been shaped by the life and work of Townes Van Zandt. Kris Kristofferson, Guy Clark, Billy Joe Shaver, Rodney Crowell, Lucinda Williams, and Lyle Lovett are just a few of the established musicians who share their impressions of the breathtakingly beautiful tunes and lyrics he created, along with their humorous, poignant, painful, and indelible memories of witnessing Van Zandt's rise and fall.

Atkinson balances the reminiscences of seasoned veterans with the observations of relative newcomers to the international music scene, such as Jim James (My Morning Jacket), Josh Ritter, and Scott Avett (the Avett Brothers), presenting a nuanced view of Van Zandt's singular body of work, his reckless lifestyle, and his long-lasting influence. Forewords by "Cowboy" Jack Clement and longtime Van Zandt manager and friend Harold F. Eggers Jr. open the book, and each chapter begins with an introduction in which Atkinson provides context and background, linking each interviewee to Van Zandt's legacy.

#Accelerate: The Accelerationist Reader

FREEDownload : #Accelerate: The Accelerationist Reader

Robin Mackay, Armen Avanessian, "#Accelerate: The Accelerationist Reader"
2014 | ISBN-10: 0957529554 | 448 pages | PDF | 5 MB

#Accelerate: The Accelerationist Reader
Accelerationism is the name of a contemporary political heresy: the insistence that the only radical political response to capitalism is not to protest, disrupt, critique, or détourne it, but to accelerate and exacerbate its uprooting, alienating, decoding, abstractive tendencies. The term was coined to designate a certain nihilistic alignment of theory with the excess and abandon of capitalist culture, and the associated performative aesthetic of texts that seek to become immanent to the very process of alienation. Developing at the dawn of contemporary neoliberal consensus, the uneasy status of this impulse, between subversion and acquiescence, between theoretical purchase and aesthetic enjoyment, constitutes the core problematic of accelerationism. Since the 2013 publication of Williams's and Srnicek's #Accelerate: Manifesto for an Accelerationist Politics, the term has been adopted to name a set of new theoretical enterprises that aim to conceptualise non-capitalist futures outside of traditional marxist critiques and regressive, decelerative or restorative solutions. #ACCELERATE presents a genealogy of accelerationism, tracking the impulse through 90s UK darkside cyberculture and the theory-fictions of Nick Land, Sadie Plant, Iain Grant, and anonymous units like CCRU and SWITCH, across the cultural underground of the 80s (rave, acid house, Terminator and Bladerunner) and back to its sources in delirious post-68 ferment, in texts whose searing nihilistic jouissance would later be disavowed by their authors and the marxist and academic establishment alike. On either side of this largely unexplored central sequence, the book includes texts by Marx that call attention to his own 'Prometheanism' and key works from recent years document the recent extraordinary emergence of new accelerationisms steeled against the onslaughts of neoliberal capitalist realism, and retooled for the twenty-first century. At the forefront of the energetic contemporary debate around this disputed, problematic term, #ACCELERATE activates a historical conversation about futurality, technology, politics, enjoyment and Kapital. This is a legacy shot through with contradictions, yet urgently galvanized today by the poverty of 'reasonable' contemporary political alternatives.
