The Optimist: One Man’s Search for the Brighter Side of Life [Audiobook]
When it comes to bad news, we've never had it so good.

Laurence Shorter is feeling anxious. Every time he opens a newspaper or turns on the radio he finds another reason to be tearful. It's time to make a change. It's time to be optimistic!

His plan is simple:
1. Learn how to jump out of bed in the morning.
2. Secure personal happiness.
3. Save the world.

The Optimist charts Shorter's ambitious, year-long, international quest to seek out the world's most positive thinkers, including Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Jung Chang, Matthieu Ricard, California's renowned Surfing Rabbi, and Bill Clinton. But optimism doesn't come easy, and Shorter's resolve is tested at every corner: by a flagging career, a troubled love affair, and his ever-pessimistic dad.

The Optimist is a hilarious and ultimately life-affirming stand against the grind of everyday strife, packed with reasons to be cheerful.

Flashforward is a science fiction novel by Canadian author Robert J. Sawyer first published in 1999. The novel is set in 2009. At CERN, the Large Hadron Collider accelerator is performing a run to search for the Higgs boson. The experiment has a unique side effect; the entire human race loses their consciousness for about two minutes. During that time, nearly everyone sees themselves roughly twenty-one years and six months in the future. Each individual experiences the future through the senses of his or her future self. This "flashforward" results in countless deaths and accidents involving vehicles, aircraft, and any other device needing human control at the time of the experiment. The novel inspired the 2009 television series FlashForward.

"Acoustic Waves: From Microdevices to Helioseismology" ed. by Marco G. Beghi
InTeOpP | 2011 | ISBN: 9533075724 9789533075723 | 665 pages | PDF | 51 MB
This book presents several aspects of the active research ongoing in the field of Acoustic Waves. Theoretical efforts are leading to a deeper understanding of phenomena, also in complicated environments like the solar surface boundary. A whole class of widespread microdevices, including filters and sensors, is based on the behaviour of acoustic waves propagating in thin layers. The search for better performances is driving to new materials for these devices, and to more refined tools for their analysis.

The Search for Hidden Sacred Knowledge
Language: English | EPUB / MOBI | ISBN-10: 1940265231 | 2014 | 350 pages | 0.3 MB / 0.5 MB
In this new book, Dolores Cannon continues the story begun in two of her previous books, Keepers of the Garden and The Custodians. In those books, she explained how the Extraterrestrials developed life on Earth, how they came to be regarded as gods and explored the complicated relationship between humans and ETs.

The Search for Hidden Sacred Knowledge
This book focuses on the secret knowledge that has been passed from generation to generation after the Extraterrestrials left earth. For centuries, ET wisdom has been protected by the few who belonged to the secret Mystery schools, where a few initiates were chosen to learn and practice the various techniques. The knowledge had to be safeguarded and protected. They knew that it must not die.

Down through countless centuries this knowledge was protected and shared only with the chosen few. Wars have been fought and terrible injustices have been committed in attempts to gain access to this knowledge. Those with the knowledge often died rather than let it fall into the wrong hands. Now it is no longer reserved strictly for oracles in temples, hermits in caves, or wise men cloistered in hidden schools. It is returning to our time and is now available for all to learn.

Particle and Nuclear Physics at J-PARC
English | Physics | 27. August 2009 | ISBN-10: 3642009603 | 266 pages | pdf | 8 mb
An accelerator complex which gives extremely high-intensity proton beams is being constructed in Tokai, Japan.

Particle and Nuclear Physics at J-PARC
The project is operated by JAEA (Japan Atomic Energy Agency) and KEK (High Energy Accelerator Research Or- nization) and called J-PARC (Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex). J-PARC accelerator complex consists of 200MeV linac, 3GeV rapid cycling synchrotron, and 30GeV main synchrotron. The energy of linac will be – tendedto400MeVandtheenergyofthemainringwillbeincreasedto50GeV in the near future. J-PARC aims to perform various researches of life and material sciences by using neutron beams from the 3GeV rapid cycling synchrotron. J-PARC also aims to perform various particle and nuclear physics experiments by using the 50GeV main synchrotron. In this book we collected several proposals of particle and nuclear physics experiments to be performed by using 50GeV main synchrotron. Prof. Nagamiya gives a brief introduction of J-PARC. He describes the purpose of the project, the aims of the various facilities, and the researches to be done by using these facilities. Prof. Ichikawa discusses about the long baseline nutrino oscillation expe- ment. This proposal is called T2K (Tokai to Kamioka) and it aims to measure mixinganglesintheleptonsector.Theytrytoperformaprecisemeasurement of ? by measuring the ? disappearance.
